Getting your teeth done in Turkey
Turkey takes more UK dental patients than the rest of Europe combined. The prices are real, the clinics are largely modern, and the savings on big cases run to five figures. There are also things the packages do not mention. Both halves are below.

Veneers or crowns? The distinction matters more here than anywhere
A veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front of a tooth. A crown covers the whole tooth and requires the dentist to file it down substantially first. Some clinics marketing "veneers" fit crowns — quicker, more dramatic, and irreversible. If a quote covers 20 teeth in five days, those are almost certainly crowns. Ask which, in writing.
Where people go
- Istanbul — the largest cluster, several hundred clinics serving international patients. Widest choice, widest quality spread.
- Antalya — resort-adjacent, packages usually bundle the hotel. Slightly cheaper, smaller selection.
- Izmir — smaller, less tourist-oriented, competitive on price.
The aftercare gap
Turkey is outside the EU. If something fails after you are home, a UK dentist will treat it at full private rates — £2,000–£3,000 to remove and replace a failed implant. Most clinics offer written warranties, but exercising one means flying back. Line up a UK dentist willing to do routine follow-up before you travel; some practices decline work they did not place.
